Upcoming Indigenous Services Events:

Move to New Building (Western Student Services) *UPDATE*
Indigenous Services is scheduled to move to the new building (WSS) during the first week of July (July 6-10).  As a result, Indigenous Services may not be in full operation during this time.  For more information on the new building, please visit: http://www.wss.uwo.ca/

Access Transition Program – 1st & 2nd Year Students
Applications are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 Access Transition Program (ATP).  Please contact Indigenous Services at 519-661-4095 or 1-888-661-4095 if you are interested in obtaining more information on the ATP or an application. 

The ATP is designed to assist Indigenous students to enroll and succeed within the Faculties of Health Sciences, Science, and Social Science through intensive academic, personal and cultural supports.

Highlights of the ATP Include:

  • Orientation
  • Academic Advising
  • Access to Tutors and Teaching Assistants

New & Existing Graduates (Alumni)

Buffy Sainte-Marie
Buffy Saint-Marie received an Honourary Doctor of Music from The University of Western Ontario on June 10, 2009.  To celebrate this event, Indigenous Services hosted a reception at Althouse-Faculty of Education.  Nimitaa Dance Troupe from Wiiji Nimbawyaaing Elementary School (Chippewa of the Thames) and Nahee Singers were among the invited guests.  First Nation community members, faculty, staff and students were among the attendees.  Please see “Buffy Sainte-Marie” on the right hand column, under the heading “Events” for further details on the event.
