New opportunity for PhD students to apply under the the Federal Skilled Worker program for Permanent Residency - effective November 5, 2011
Canada intends to accept up to 1,000 international PhD students per year as permanent residents through the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Starting November 5, 2011, many international PhD students will be eligible to submit applications for processing as Federal Skilled Workers. To be eligible, they must have completed at least two years of study toward the attainment of a PhD and remain in good academic standing at a provincially recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada.

Web portal for International Opportunities and Experiences at The University of Western Ontario launched.
This site has been designed to direct you to information on international activity here at the university, whether you are a current Western student, faculty, staff, alumni, a prospective international student,or someone outside of the university who wishes to know more about internationalization on our campus.

Students affected by major world events:

If you are an international student who is undergoing hardships or stress due to turmoil or natural disasters in your home country, Western has a variety of support services available for you including helping students deal with academic or financial challenges, helping to locate relevant campus resources, and assistance for students feeling stressed or overwhelmed.  Please visit International and Exchange Student Centre (at the Western Student Services building, Room 2120), email iesc@uwo.ca or call 519-661-2111 ext 85908.  If you require assistance, we are here to support you.
