Welcome to the Writing Support Centre: inspiring words

Realize your writing potential at the WSC. Writing, so vital to academic success, can be daunting; to help, we have provided free writing support for the Western community since 1996. Visit our WSSB location or our Weldon Drop-In branch and have one of our writing experts review your work. We welcome all academic and professional writing, including CVs and applications.

We offer:

Appointments and Drop-In Services

Looking for in-depth development of your writing abilities? Sign up for an Appointment and have an hour-long, one-on-one meeting with a writing counsellor. You can bring a particular assignment or simply come with general concerns. Got a quick question or need someone to give your paper a last-minute check? Our Drop-In services are available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the term in our Weldon Library location, beside Quotes Cafe. Please keep in mind we are not an editing service. We are a teaching unit.

GradWRITE

Through GradWRITE, The Writing Support Centre offers services tailored to graduate students including one-on-one counselling, our annual Graduate Writing Conference, writing workshops, the Grad Lab and online resources. GradWRITE Writing Workshops offered through GradWRITE address specific writing issues for graduate students.
